OXFORD CLIMATE VENTURES PROGRAMME

BEFORE YOU GET STARTED:

Delivered by Oxford Saïd Entrepreneurship Centre and the ZERO Institute, Oxford Climate Ventures supports innovators working on energy transition, climate mitigation, and adaptation, whether you're developing a new business idea or looking to spin out a solution from your research. We welcome participation from all backgrounds. 


Through expert mentorship, practical workshops and access to Oxford’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, you’ll gain the knowledge, experience, skills, and network to move your venture from concept to reality. 

Applications are now open and will close on 1 October 2025. 

How to Apply 

To be eligible for Oxford Climate Ventures, the main applicant must be an Oxford University students, staff, or alumni who hold a University of Oxford undergraduate, postgraduate or research degree, completed no earlier than the academic year 2022-2023. You can apply as an individual or as part of a team. 

Applicants are asked to complete this application form and upload a two-minute video explaining their business idea. When describing your idea, keep it simple and explain it in a way that a 12-year-old would understand. 



Your application will be reviewed against our selection criteria: 

Viability of your idea 

Your (or your team’s) skills and professional experience  

Your passion, commitment and motivation for joining the programme 

How much Oxford Climate Ventures can help you  

The scale of impact your solution could achieve 


Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the spaces are filled so we encourage you to apply early.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 1st October 2025, at 12:00 midday (GMT).

Your Idea
Video Link 

In order to progress onto the next part of the application you will be required to add a short video link (please upload your video by sharing with us a Youtube/Vimeo link below).

 

The video is only required to be 2 minutes long, please do not go over this time as the committee will only review up to the 2 minute mark.

 

Please note that the form does not support the uploading of videos and in order to have your application considered you will be required to share a link. If you have any issues uploading your video please send the video directly to climateventures@sbs.ox.ac.uk

The video itself can be recorded by the nominated team lead on behalf of the team, it does not need to feature all team members.

 

Please take your time to record your video and review the following advice below to ensure that you have covered all the relevant information required by our committee.

 

*When describing your idea make it simple, how would you describe it to a 12 year old?

*What is the problem you are trying to solve and why is it an important issue?

*Who will your idea benefit and what market are you trying to address?

*Who are your competitors?

*How do you expect your idea to make money?
